Despite rapid rescue and resuscitation attempts, the 69-year-old man lost his life at the scene of the accident. The cantonal police are appealing for witnesses.
Saturday, around 1:40 p.m., the Friborg cantonal police were informed that a cyclist had been found unconscious in Ménières, on the edge of the Vesin road.
The alert was given by two third parties who immediately proceeded to cardiac massage. Paramedics from Star Ambulances, REGA and the Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service (SMUR) quickly intervened on the scene. Despite several attempts at resuscitation, the victim died at the scene.
According to the first elements, the police found that the cyclist, a 69-year-old man, was riding with his
electric bike from Vesin towards Ménières. For some undetermined reason, he fell in the field near the road.
The cantonal road was not closed during the intervention. An investigation is underway. Anyone who can provide useful information to the investigation is asked to contact the Friborg cantonal police on 026 304 17 17.
