A “red” alert was signaled to the authorities on the evening of Wednesday, October 2 in Menidi, when two men who were in the park at the junction of Bosda and Varela streets, noticed the presence of two DIAS groups and started running.
During their escape, according to newsbomb.gr, they threw two grenades and escaped, with the police chasing the perpetrators. Eventually, one of the two was located and arrested a few streets below.

During his arrest, two detonators and 50 bullets were found in his possession. The authorities revealed that the arrested person lived in Metaxourgeio.
The area has been cordoned off by police forces, while ELAS men “comb” the area to locate the second perpetrator and any other dangerous materials.
