Don’t miss the Memorial Cup final between the Remparts and the Thunderbirds starting at 7 p.m. on RDS and RDS.ca.
The Quebec Remparts will meet the Seattle Thunderbirds on Sunday night in the Memorial Cup final.
In their first participation since 2015, the Remparts will try to get their hands on a third title at this tournament, their first since 2006. They had previously won the prestigious competition in 1971 when Guy Lafleur was in training.
The Remparts had the best 3-1 over the Thunderbirds in their preliminary game last Monday.
This victory of the Remparts once morest the Thunderbirds had allowed Quebec to obtain its ticket for the final following having played only two games.
Remparts captain Théo Rochette guided the Remparts to this crucial victory with a double while Zachary Bolduc had two assists and William Rousseau shone in the Quebec net with 35 saves.
Since that setback, the Thunderbirds have defeated the Kamloops Blazers 6-1 to reach the semifinals and the Peterborough Petes 4-1 to advance to the final.
For their part, the Remparts have been on leave since Tuesday, when they lost to the Petes when they were already guaranteed a place in the final.
After concluding the regular season with the best record in the QMJHL, the Remparts swept their first three series. They then defeated the Halifax Mooseheads in six games to win their first league title in 47 years.
