Memo Ochoa and “Chucky” out of the squad

Memo Ochoa and “Chucky” out of the squad

Next week, Javier Aguirre will present an extensive list of players for his first matches as coach of the Mexican national team and this group will not include goalkeeper Guillermo Ocho and attacker Hirving “Chucky” Lozano, who were also cut before the Copa América by Jaime Lozano.

Both players are not expected to be in the squad for the friendly matches against New Zealand and Canada on September 7 and 10, respectively, in the United States.

The reason why Ochoa would not be called up in this squad is because he has not found a team after leaving Salernitana in Italian football.

Lozano’s case is different, as he had minutes at the start of the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands and even scored two goals, so his absence is due more to non-footballing issues.

The call

Javier Aguirre wants to see as many players as possible on this FIFA date so he can tell everyone what his plan is for each of them and that is why it is expected that around 30 players or more will be called up.

The list to be released next week is expected to include the return of Raúl Jiménez and Henry Martín, who were not present at the last Copa América.

Mexicans in Europe

Fulham’s Raúl Jiménez and Bournemouth’s Julián Araujo are in contention for the Premier League, while West Ham’s Edson Álvarez is still in doubt due to injury.

In the case of Raúl Jiménez, he returns after being absent from the Copa América. On that occasion, the argument was that a generational change was planned.

Julián Araujo, on the other hand, was not in the continental tournament because he was given time to fight for a place in Barcelona in the preseason or to find a good team for the current season, and he managed to sign with English club Bournemouth.

In Spain, César Montes, who is playing for Almería in the Second Division, is considered. In addition, there is the case of Alex Padilla, who is on everyone’s lips for his appearance as Athletic Bilbao’s starting goalkeeper, and who, despite being called up by the Tricolor U-23, Aguirre is now considering calling him up.

As for the Italian league, Genoa’s Johan Vásquez is being considered by Javier Aguirre for the September matches.

Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez, one of the top scorers in Dutch football, will also be required by the “Vasco” for the upcoming friendly matches.

Dynamo Moscow player Luis Chavez is being considered for a place in the Mexican national team’s midfield for the games against New Zealand and Canada.

Finally, Julián Quiñones, who has just moved to the Arab league, is also being considered by Javier Aguirre for the September FIFA matchday. The attacker signed with Al Qadisiya, recently promoted to the First Division.

In the case of Orbelín Pineda, who is still a player for AEK Athens, there is still no information, however, there should be no surprises regarding his presence in the first list of the “Vasco”, since he played the three games of the last Copa América and was a starter at the weekend in the start of the Greek league.

Javier Aguirre will debut in his third stage at the helm of the tricolor team, now with the support of former defender Rafael Márquez as his assistant, in a couple of weeks against New Zealand in Pasadena, California and Canada in Arlington, Texas.— ESPN and MEDIOTIEMPO
