After exploiting information regarding the activity of an illegal immigrant trafficking ring, through the air method to and from our country, whose members were active in the center of Athens, the accused were located and their criminal activity was certified.

As it emerged from the investigation, the defendants used a health care store in Agios Panteleimonas, as a “showcase”, where they organized illegal promotions of immigrants from our country to other European countries.

For this purpose, they provided the immigrants with false travel documents or documents of third parties impersonating them (the sosia method).

The documents were used to issue air tickets and those interested paid fees ranging from 600 to 1,200 euros to obtain them, depending on the type and country of origin.

After a search of the store and their home, the following were found and confiscated:

116 Identity cards (Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Spain and Estonia)

53 Residence Permits (Greece, Belgium and Switzerland)

33 Passports (Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, Turkey, Morocco, Egypt, Syria, Palestine and India),

6 Greek Asylum Cards,

3 Driving Licenses (Czech Republic, Denmark and Bulgaria) and

3 mobile phones.

Those arrested were taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
