Meloni: Visited Tunisia – Fourth time in a year

The Italian Prime Minister landed today at Tunis-Carthage airport for her fourth official visit to Tunisia in 12 months.

She went to the presidential palace, where she was received by the president of this North African country, Kais Sagent.

Italian government sources underline that Rome strongly supports Tunisia, a country which is a key piece of security in the Mediterranean and North Africa.

At the same time, according to the protothema, the same sources state that the Italy promotes the relations of the European Union with Tunisia in support of the Memorandum of Cooperation, which was signed on 16 July 2023, and that the cooperation of the two countries covers the whole range of sectors of common interest, with a particular emphasis on research and the support of small and medium-sized enterprises businesses.

During her visit today Georgia Meloni a number of official bilateral cooperation agreements are to be signed.
