After her seventh place in monobob, Mélanie Hasler and her pusher Nadja Pasternack signed a good sixth place on Saturday in the women’s two-man bobsleigh event at the Beijing Olympics.

Seventh following two races, the two women improved in the third and fourth races to earn a place in the standings and celebrate another diploma for Hasler.

Disappointment on the other hand for the second Swiss crew. Martina Fontanive and Irina Strebel failed to move up the rankings and remain in 20th and last place in this final.

Germany to the power of two

Laura Nolte became the youngest Olympic champion in the discipline by beating her compatriot, and reigning Olympic champion, Mariama Jamanka by 77 hundredths. Bronze went to American Elana Meyers Taylors.
