Meghan Markle reveals how Prince Harry helped her at her “worst case”

Meghan Markle has spoken candidly regarding her struggles with mental health and how her husband, Britain’s Prince Harry, helped her find a professional to speak to when she was at her “worst”.

The Duchess of Sussex revealed her experience with mental health during the latest episode of the ‘Architectures’ podcast. While speaking regarding the importance of seeking help and support in moments of struggle, Meghan reflected on her “worst case” when she saw a mental health professional helping her husband, Yahoo News reported. “I mean, I think at my worst moment,” she said, “I was finally in touch with an expert on what my husband had found… and she called this woman, she didn’t even know I was calling her.” Duchess call.

Meghan explained that it took a few moments before the mental health expert realized who he was talking to, at which point she remembered telling her, “I need help.” “She can hear the dire state I was in,” she said, adding that it was important “for all of us to be really honest regarding what we need and not be afraid to come to terms with that.”

The Duchess’ comments come following she spoke regarding the depression she suffered as a working member of the royal family during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

At the time, Meghan revealed that she experienced her worst moment while pregnant with her son Archie. She explained: “I was really ashamed to say it and ashamed to have to admit it, to Harry in particular, because I know how much he has lost. But I knew if I didn’t talk regarding it… I would – I didn’t want to be alive anymore. It was a very clear, real and frightening idea.”

Meghan said she went to the royal family for mental health support and the request was turned down because it “would not be of use to the institution”.

While Meghan credits Harry for helping her, the prince has previously revealed that he is “a bit ashamed” of the way he handled the realization that his wife was suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts. At the time, he said he felt sorry for his wife and angry at himself because they were “stuck in this situation”. “I was ashamed that it had become this bad, and I was ashamed of going to my family because to be honest with you, like a lot of other people of my age, I know I’m not going to get what I need from my family,” he said.

Meghan also revealed that she was “forced” not to show emotions in public. “I’d like to cry a lot,” she said, “but I have to keep some — a different kind of — composure.”
