People and royalty
A highly commented sequence at Westminster Hall.
Almost without a hitch. This Wednesday, September 14, at 3:30 p.m., the coffin of Elizabeth II left Buckingham Palace to join Westminster Hall. A moment as solemn as millimeter during which the British royal family displayed a united front. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were there.
Together
The Duke of Sussex, deprived of his military uniform like his uncle, Prince Andrew, crossed the Mall behind Charles III, Princess Anne and Prince Edward. The former actress, she rallied this heart of the parliamentary monarchy separately. There, the Archbishop of Canterbury paid homage to Her Majesty and the emotion was palpable. The royal family then left the scene to let the British say a final farewell to the queen at 70 years of reign from 6 p.m. And it is hand in hand that the Sussexes left.

The strong streak was quickly criticized by the British. “No respect for royal protocol”, “no class”, “so disrespectful”, “it’s queen’s day and it’s awkward no one else held hands”, might we read on Twitter in the process. Since the death of Elizabeth II on September 8, the Sussexes have been under fire from critics more than ever.
Lmao here is proof that Meghan Markle haters (who swear they aren’t racist) will attack her for so much as breathing. Apparently holding a loved one’s hand for support at a funeral is now a crime. pic.twitter.com/gZdQd5VQpH
