Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Ali Mochtar Ngabalin asked the General Chairperson (Ketum) of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri to be resigned. This is related to the investigation conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and PDIP cadre Hevearita.
“If today there are certain figures who are being investigated or have to face demands and regulatory orders, let us be willing,” said Ngabalin at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, today.
Ngabalin also asked Mega to hand over the legal process to the KPK. He ensured that no party could intervene in the anti-corruption agency. “There should never be anyone who can intervene in the legal authority, the steps taken by the KPK,” he explained.
In addition, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), said Ngabalin, has emphasized that corruption is an extraordinary crime. For that, he hopes that the public will support efforts to eradicate corruption.
“Everyone must also provide support to (the KPK) which is mandated by the state, by the people to handle the problem of criminal acts of corruption,” he stressed.
Previously, the KPK had questioned Semarang Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu. The PDIP cadre’s statement was investigated regarding the alleged corruption case in the Semarang City Government (Pemkot).
In addition, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto is being questioned repeatedly by the KPK. Hasto was questioned as a witness in the alleged bribery case for the appointment of members of the 2019-2024 DPR with suspect Harun Masiku. (P-2)
