Megadeth Enters Studio To Record New Album
MEGADETH has entered the studio to begin writing and recording their next studio album.
According to Mustaine, who recently generated buzz by reviving the band’s iconic “Cyber Army” fan club platform, the band is preparing to “immerse themselves in a six-month journey, crafting a new era of MEGADETH”. He revealed the band’s formula for the new album, stating, “Collaborating remotely due to our individual schedules” adds unique flavor to their process.
Joining Mustaine in the studio are longtime bassist James LoMenzo, drummer Dirk Verbeuren, and guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, who has made waves since joining the band over a year ago. Mäntysaari fills the void left by Kiko Loureiro
Mäntysaari has released a flurry of shredding riffs that meld perfectly with MEGADETH’s signature sound.
The band has chosen to work with producer Chris Rakestraw, who helmed MEGADETH’s last two studio albums, 2022’s “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!” and 2016’s “Dystopia”.

**(Teemu Mäntysaari):** [Smiling] It’s been amazing! The creative energy is through the roof right now. We’re all really excited about the direction the music is taking.
**(Interviewer):** This will be your first studio album with Megadeth since joining the band. How has it been collaborating with Dave Mustaine, James LoMenzo, and Dirk Verbeuren?

**(Interviewer):** You’ve been releasing some seriously shredding stuff leading up to this.
**(Teemu Mäntysaari):** [Chuckles] You could say I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve. Hopefully, fans will be pleasantly surprised.
**(Interviewer):** It sounds like this album is shaping up to be something special. Anything else you can tell us about it?
**(Teemu Mäntysaari):**We’re exploring some new themes and musical landscapes. There’s a lot of intensity and aggression, but there’s also some beautiful moments of melody and reflection. I really think this album will showcase Megadeth in a new light while remaining true to our roots.
