Megadeth Enters Studio To Record New Album

MEGADETH has entered the studio to begin writing and recording their next studio album.

According to Mustaine, who recently generated buzz by reviving the band’s iconic “Cyber Army” fan club platform, the band is preparing to “immerse themselves in a six-month journey, crafting a new era of MEGADETH”. He revealed the band’s formula for the new album, stating, “Collaborating remotely due to our individual schedules” adds unique flavor to their process.

Joining Mustaine in the studio are longtime bassist James LoMenzo, drummer Dirk Verbeuren, and guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, who has made waves since joining the band over a year ago. Mäntysaari fills the void left by Kiko Loureiro

Mäntysaari has released a flurry of shredding riffs that meld perfectly with MEGADETH’s signature sound.

The band has chosen to work with producer Chris Rakestraw, who helmed MEGADETH’s last two studio albums, 2022’s “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!” and 2016’s “Dystopia”.

In fact, he brought fresh energy to the band, reminding Mustaine of what it’s like to be truly a part of it all, rejecting any notion to see MEGADETH as just a studio project.

Mustaine revealed, “Teemu not only performs flawlessly in theônicos and how it has impacted the band’s dynamics. This isn’t the case anymore,” he says.
