Mega deal in NBA is getting closer: Boston has to clarify a difficult question for Durant

Despite making it to the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics are acting very quickly this NBA offseason. Following the transfer of former Indiana Pacers point guard Malcolm Brogdon, the Celtics are now on the hunt for Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant, according to the latest reports.

The Celtics are a serious contender to sign Durant as they have an interesting mix of different players that might actually persuade the Nets to make a deal. Part of such a deal might be her 25-year-old star, Jaylen Brown.

NBA deal: Is Kevin Durant available for the Boston Celtics?

Brown played a very important role in helping the Celtics reach the NBA Finals last season. He was also the Celtics’ best player during the NBA Finals when he averaged 23.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game over the six games.

However, Brown is not safe from trade talks despite his great performances for the Celtics last season. What’s more, Brown would be at the heart of a deal that would bring Durant to the Celtics.

ESPN writes: “For the Celtics, All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum is taboo in any trade talk. They don’t talk regarding him. But Boston is able to put together a package for Durant that might include Brown and up to three unprotected first-round picks (2025, 2027 and 2029) — and two pick swaps (2024 and 2026). Brown, 25, has two years and $56 million left on his current contract.”
