A high-level delegation led by Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during which investment projects in Pakistan were discussed. The Saudi delegation was also given suggestions regarding investments in transmission lines, solar projects and mining projects.
Federal Ministers including Ishaq Dar participated in this meeting held at the Prime Minister House. All the ministers gave a briefing regarding the projects related to their ministries. Suggestions regarding investment in transmission lines, solar projects, mining projects were also given to the Saudi delegation.
The delegation was offered PIA, privatization of airports, joint venture in 2 five star hotels in Islamabad. According to the proposal, the land for the hotels will belong to CDA and the investment will be made by Saudi Arabia and then they will build the hotel. The delegation was also offered the Matiari Transmission Line and First Women Bank.
The Saudi delegation was also offered to build a health city, for which CDA is ready to become a partner or take money by giving land.
According to the sources, SIFC central secretary is doing all the work regarding the investment projects. The Saudi delegation will also meet President Zardari and Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir. The Prime Minister is overseeing all matters to finalize various projects with the Saudi delegation.
It should be remembered that a high-level Saudi delegation headed by the Saudi Foreign Minister had reached Pakistan yesterday. According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, he was warmly welcomed by Cabinet members including Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on his arrival at Noor Khan Air Base.
On this occasion, the children presented flowers to the Saudi minister and the static guard was also performed by the army band.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Office says that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have deep brotherly relations, this two-day visit will further strengthen the bilateral relations of the two countries, while the visit will also be beneficial for economic partnership.
Saudi Arabia’s delegation includes Saudi Minister of Water and Agriculture Engineer Abdul Rahman Abdul Mohsen Al-Alfadli, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Ibrahim Al-Khoraif, Deputy Minister of Investment Badr Al-Badr, Head of the Saudi Special Committee Muhammad Mazid Al-Tawaijri and the Ministry of Energy and the Saudi Fund for General Investment.
