While Bruno Le Maire is announcing himself today in the Jura to discuss the price of energy in particular, the Senate Business Delegation can testify to the disarray and exasperation of business leaders in this department where they have carried out a mission on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 December . Led by its president, Serge Babary (Les Républicains – Indre-et-Loire), the Delegation indeed came to meet the business leaders of the Jura, at the invitation of Marie-Christine Chauvin (Les Républicains – Jura) .
In addition to visiting two emblematic companies (Jura Flora in Poligny and Chauvin Wood Construction in Mont-sous-Vaudrey), they discussed with regarding fifteen entrepreneurs from the department during a round table organized in Arbois. For Serge Babary: “the Jura shows us that a territory can be both highly industrial – since it is the department with the most industrial jobs per inhabitant – but also agricultural. However, the Jura ecosystem is affected by the same ills as the entire French economic fabric : recruitment difficulties, unsustainable rise in the cost ofenergydifficulties in being competitive on the export market, sclerosan regulatory straightjacket“.
The business leaders met spoke with a lot of sincerity regarding the difficulties they encounter on a daily basis in particular the explosion of energy costs, even at the incumbent supplier and despite the Government’s promises . “EDF announces a contract with a price more than six times higher!”, testifies the manager of a printing works. “We had negotiated a contract 2.5 times more expensive and the prefect told us not to sign, that a government device was coming. Result of the races, we will have to pay a contract almost four times more expensive”assures another entrepreneur.
For Marie-Christine Chauvin: “If he is looking for concrete examples of the wall of difficulties encountered by companies. Let’s hope that Bruno Le Maire hears the despair and finds those solutions that fall under the Government!“.
