This Thursday, March 14, Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah held a meeting to make contact with the Guinean Trade Union Movement (MSG) at the Prime Minister’s Office. This meeting, announced earlier by Guinee360.com, brought together the general secretaries of the trade union centers as well as members of the union negotiations commission.

Following this meeting, the general coordinator of the MSG, Amadou Diallo, shared the main points discussed during the interview. He stressed that the meeting was a first step of making contact, during which the general problems encountered by the Guinean trade union movement were exposed, in particular the need to continue negotiations.

The union representatives therefore outlined their concerns in detail, expressing their wish that negotiations continue at the National Council for Social Dialogue (CNDS).

The presence of the new Minister of Labor and Civil Service was particularly noted, a sign of the government’s desire to take union demands into account. The Prime Minister also requested the drafting of a detailed memo, to be transmitted as soon as possible, in order to deepen the discussions and find solutions to the problems raised.

This meeting might mark the start of a constructive dialogue between the Guinean government and the Guinean Trade Union Movement, with the aim of responding to the needs and concerns of the country’s workers.

It should be noted that it was at the request of Prime Minister Bah Oury that the new Minister of Labor and Civil Service took part in this meeting, although he has not yet officially taken office.
