After the departure of Christophe Galtier to Paris Saint-Germain, the leaders of OGC Nice may be parting with a new coach. Indeed, Lucien Favre is in the hot seat and his departure might come sooner than expected. However, the Gym project seemed to be in good hands, all the more so when the president of the Riviera club, Jean-Pierre Rivère, decided to bring the Swiss coach back to the Côte d’Azur.
Unfortunately, the results did not follow and the Nice club found itself in a sad 13th place with a meager record (two wins and two draws for four defeats). The latest defeat once morest Angers (2-1) might therefore be one too many. The future of the 64-year-old technician is in any case clearly questioned at the moment on the side of the Alliance Riviera lately.
Nice can align with its requests
And OGC Nice has started to sound out the coaching market. One of them is none other than Mauricio Pochettino. The now former Paris Saint-Germain coach is of interest to the Riviera club. A meeting will even take place this Tuesday between the 50-year-old technician and the Nice management.
The latter would even be able to meet the financial requirements of the Argentine coach. The staggering salary that Mauricio Pochettino received at PSG would therefore not be an obstacle to negotiations between the two parties. Even if there are still many details to settle, the days of Lucien Favre on the French Riviera seem to be more and more numbered…
