Russian President Vladimir Putin received newly appointed foreign ambassadors at the Kremlin on the 5th. He told the U.S. ambassador that the U.S. should bear the greatest responsibility for the rapid deterioration of U.S.-Russia relations since the Russo-Ukraine War.
Putin told U.S. Ambassador to Russia Lynne Tracy, who will take office in 2023, that the current situation of Russia-Ukraine conflict was caused by the U.S. support for Ukraine’s “Brexit Russia and Europe” Independence Square Revolution (Euromaidan) in 2014. Putin said the “serious crisis” facing U.S.-Russian relations today was due to fundamentally different ways the two countries view and approach the current global order.
Putin said: “Dear Madam Ambassador, I know you may not agree with me, but I must say that the United States has promoted color revolutions everywhere through various methods, which is tantamount to indirectly supporting the turmoil in Kiev in 2014, which eventually led to today’s turmoil. Ukraine crisis”.
