The elected mayor of Bucaramanga, Jaime Andrés Beltrán, began to reveal the names of those who will make up the municipal cabinet from January 1, 2024, when his administration begins.
This Friday, Beltrán announced that the Secretary of Health and Environment of Bucaramanga will be the renowned doctor Claudia Amaya, whom he described as a medical professional with experience and responsibility.
“Claudia is a surgeon at the UIS, a Bumanguesa with more than 30 years of experience in the sector, committed and knowledgeable regarding the challenges we have in our city in this regard.” said the president-elect when making the announcement on his social networks.
Profile of the next Secretary of Health
Claudia Amaya Ayala is a doctor and surgeon from the Industrial University of Santander, UIS, Specialist in Health Services Management from the UCC, Master in Business Administration from the UlS.
With more than 30 years of experience in the health sector, he has held management positions in the different actors of the system, from the insurer, as head of quality of the ISS, from the provider as manager of the Heart Institute of the Cardiovascular Foundation, Manager of the National Telemedicine Center, has had experience as a health authority serving as health secretary of Bucaramanga and Santander, and has been a user of the health system as a patient.
This Bumanguesa, mother of three children, has been a spokesperson for patients for 6 years, carrying out public political advocacy with decision makers to improve the quality of life of Colombians.
His high sense of solidarity and knowledge of the health sector, his leadership focused on quality and results, allow him to take on the challenge of leading the Ministry of Health and Environment of Bucaramanga.
