“The spirit of peace talks is in the air”
With his post, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev emphasized that it was the United States that was not interested in preserving the statehood of Ukraine. Thus, Medvedev veiled invited Kyiv to the negotiations. The corresponding point of view was expressed by political scientist Ilya Grashchenkov.
Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev expressed doubt in his Telegram channel that Ukraine would exist in two years. The reason for the publication of the politician was the information that Kyiv wants to receive from Washington an agreement on the supply of American LNG under Lend-Lease with payment in two years.
“And who said that in two years Ukraine will even exist on the world map? Although the Americans don’t care anymore – they have invested so much in the anti-Russia project that everything else is a trifle for them, ”Medvedev wrote on a social network.
From Grashchenkov’s point of view, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation emphasized that the United States is not interested in preserving the statehood of Ukraine. This, according to the specialist, is a warning to the Ukrainian leadership that if they continue to “lie down” under the United States, then the country can be divided. By his publication, Medvedev hints that if Kyiv hopes for the supply of weapons and financial assistance to the United States, which can pump up weapons and then abandon this “project”, then, left with weapons, but without support, Ukraine may face a new round of armed conflict and lose their statehood, Grashchenkov shared his thoughts.
According to the expert, Medvedev’s post may contain an invitation to peace talks.
“The spirit of peace talks is in the air. Perhaps Medvedev is hinting at them very carefully,” Grashchenkov explained his position.
On June 14, Yury Ushakov, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for International Affairs, said that so far there were no changes in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, “everything has stalled” in them. The Kremlin spokesman recalled that the last face-to-face meeting of representatives of the two countries was held on March 29 in Istanbul. Then, on April 15, Moscow handed over to Kyiv a draft peace agreement, which has so far remained unanswered.
