Medvedev’s path to the semifinals

The Russian advanced in the first round following beating Frenchman Terence Atmane 5-7, 6-2, 6-4, 1-0 and retired and survived an early-morning thriller in the second round once morest Finnish Emil Ruusuvuori to win 3- 6, 6-7 (1), 6-4, 7-6 (1) and 6-0. After destroying Felix Auger-Aliassime in the third round by 6-3, 6-3 and 6-3, Medvedev beat the Portuguese Nuno Borges in the round of 16 by 6-3, 7-6 (4), 5- 7 and 6-1; and in the quarterfinals he suffered to beat the Polish Hubert Hurkacz 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-3, 5-7 and 6-4.
