The deputy head of the Russian National Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, said that Russian forces may head to Kiev and Lviv.
Medvedev added in an interview with prominent Russian media: “Nothing can be ruled out here. If there is a need to get to Kiev, then you should go to Kiev, or to Lviv in order to eradicate the ‘disease’.”
Three people were killed in an attack by Russian drones on Tuesday night, targeting a vocational school in the Kiev region, according to what the government emergency services announced.
The emergency department said the strike hit a secondary school in the town of Reshchev, 80 km south of Kiev, and released pictures of severely damaged buildings.
About two weeks ago, Ukrainian officials reported that 4 people had been killed in the bombing that targeted the city of Lviv, in the west of the country.
The fierce battles continue for several months on the Bakhmut axis, amid Ukrainian threats that the time for the counterattack to the attack of the Russian forces and the Wagner Group is imminent.
This comes as a senior commander in Kiev indicated that a Ukrainian counter-offensive was brewing and might happen “very soon”.
The commander of the ground forces of the Ukrainian army, General Oleksandr Sersky, said that the Russian army is losing a lot of its strength and suffering from a loss of momentum in the battle of Bakhmut.
“Very soon, we will take advantage of this opportunity, as we did in the past near Kiev, Kharkiv, Balaklia and Kubyansk,” he added.
