“The Davos Forum discusses sending tanks to Ukraine. The Polish guy (President Andrzej Duda, editor’s note) announced that it was assembling a coalition of Western countries to supply armored vehicles to kyiv“, criticized Medvedev, calling it a “shame”.
This Thursday, Dmitry Medvedev, who is vice-president of the Russian Security Council, was once more incisive, evoking the possibility of a nuclear war. He was initially reacting to the forthcoming discussions that Westerners are going to hold in Rammstein, Germany, still on armed aid to be provided to the Ukrainians. “This just following the Davos forum, where underdeveloped political parties harped on like a mantra: ‘To get peace, Russia must lose'”Medvedev said on Telegram, according to comments reported by Archyde.com.
However, he warns: “The defeat of a nuclear power in a conventional war can cause the outbreak of a nuclear war.”
The former Russian president, an ally of Vladimir Putin, adds: “The nuclear powers have not lost the major conflicts on which their fate depends. And that should be obvious to everyone.”
It should be noted that this is not the first time that the Russian official has raised the specter of a nuclear war. In July et september last, he had already declared that Russia might resort to it as a last resort or to protect the annexed territories.
