Medicines are distributed to various health regions of the country

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Health reported the delivery of drugs and supplies to health facilities in several departments of the country, through health parks, in order to ensure the population’s access to treatments.

The distribution of medicines and supplies in the 18 health regions, through the General Directorate of Strategic Health Supplies Management, allows for improved management efficiency, guarantees the safety and storage of medicines, and equitable access for users of health care centers at all levels.

This replenishment is carried out on an ongoing basis. It was recently carried out in the regions of San Pedro, Cordillera, Alto Paraná, Boquerón and Concepción.

The Regional Park of the II Health Region, San Pedro, received antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, analgesics, serums, antihypertensives and other essential medicines, worth G. 773,184,722.

Also worth mentioning is the delivery of medicines to the San Pedro Regional Penitentiary, worth G. 1,265,796, to improve the quality of life of inmates and prevent diseases in this population. This was done as part of medical assistance programs.

In Cordillera, the replenishment of supplies and medicines, corresponding to the month of August, totaled G. 1,206,160,406. This included nutritional formulas, antihypertensives, anti-inflammatories, respiratory medications and antibiotics, among other essential supplies for health programs.

Meanwhile, in Alto Paraná, medicines were delivered for chronic patients, including diabetics and hypertensive patients, as well as various hospital supplies.

In Boquerón, the provision of medicines and supplies totaled a value of G. 187,749,380. In the Concepción Health Park, the lot delivered was valued at G. 914,000,000, and consisted of antipyretics, antiparasitics, anxiolytics, antihypertensives, antibiotics (oral and parenteral), analgesics and disinfectants.

In this way, both children and adults who use health services in these and other regions have access to the necessary drugs to start or continue their treatments. In addition, medical procedures and general services can be carried out optimally and efficiently using the supplies provided, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
