The Termas de Río Hondo Comprehensive Health Center received four 6th-year medical students from the Favaloro University of Buenos Aires who completed their Compulsory Final Internship for two months. They are Iara Chait, Agustina Fernández, Araceli Fernández Guyot and Paloma Gaisch Varelli “The PFO aims to do internships and make contact with other realities that exist in the provinces under the guidelines of Dr. René Favaloro,” explained Agustina.
“The experience was spectacular, we were able to rotate through all the services offered by the CIS Termas, from the operating room and the guard to the external consulting rooms. We had the opportunity to go to health posts and see a wide variety of pathologies,” said Iara Chait.
Araceli Fernández, for her part, said that it was “a unique experience, very different from what we live in Buenos Aires” and added that “it is an opportunity of great responsibility, where everyone trusted us, welcomed us with their arms open, they taught us and supported us a lot”.
In this sense, he thanked doctors Turbay and Torres, who were in charge of the rotation, and the director of the CIS Termas, Dr. Luis Martínez, for his support and accompaniment in carrying out the final work, which consisted of a survey of health personnel with the objective of contributing to the prevention of violence in accordance with the Micaela law.
Regarding the final project, the student Paloma Gaisch Varelli reported that at the Comprehensive Center they participated in the training on the Micaela law, where gender violence and workplace violence were discussed.
The experience of the young women was made known through the official Facebook page of the local hospital.
