The Common Basic Cycle (CBC) of the National University of Buenos Aires (UBA) received 63,044 entrants in the first quarter of 2022, and the three most chosen careers were the same as in the last five years: Medicine, Psychology and Advocacy, reported this Monday from that house of higher studies.
In this way, the largest number of entrants to the CBC in the first quarter -during the last five years- was registered in 2021, with 66,651 students, and 2020, with 63,092, leaving 2022 in the third port of total enrollment (63,044).
In 2022, the Faculty of Medicine was the one with the highest number of enrollees20,004 entrants, and the Medicine career was the most chosen this year, with 10,082 students.
It is followed in the ranking by the Faculty of Right, with 4,915 registeredof which 4,264 signed up to study Law.
In third place is the Faculty of Economic Sciences, with 7,550 registeredbeing the Public Accountant career the most chosen, with 2,800 students.
For its part, Architecture and Urbanism registered 7,267 entrantsof which 2,746 enrolled in Architecture, and one of its careers, Clothing Design, increased enrollment from 92 enrolled in 2016 to 1,291 in 2022.
Meanwhile, at the Faculty of Psychology 7,214 new students were registered and the Psychology career was the most chosen, with 6,862 entrants.
As for the Faculty of Engineering, had 4751 new students and the Computer Engineering degree was the most valued, with 1,776 enrollments, and for the first time in five years, the Food Engineering degree registered enrollments in the first quarter (99).
On the other hand, at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences 2,721 students enrolledand the most chosen career was Data Science with 599 registered, this being its second consecutive year in which it is available.
Also, at the Faculty of Social Sciences 2,251 enrollments were registered and the career with the most enrollments was Sciences of Social Communication (759), however, in this faculty registers a continuous drop in enrollment in the records of the last five years, as does the Faculty of Philosophy and Lettersin which 1,713 registered in total were registered and the career of Letters was the one that had the largest number of entrants (368).
For its part, in Pharmacy and Biochemistry there were 1474 registered and Biochemistry (885) was the most chosen, while in Veterinary Sciences enrollment was 1,485 studentsof which 1,482 studied this career.
at the Faculty of Agronomy 675 registered in total, with the Agronomy career being the one with the largest number of students (306), while the Auctioneer and Rural Public Broker does not have any registered since 2020where the last 10 were recorded.
Lastly, the Rector’s Office, where the career of Technician in Administration and University Management, had 17 registered.
