Munich (ots) Interacoustics, the world’s leading manufacturer and provider of diagnostic solutions for hearing and balance tests, is driving forward its global expansion with the help of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Aras Innovator. As part of the introduction of the PLM system at Interacoustics, part of the Demant Hearing Healthcare Group, the company has announced plans to expand the use of Aras Innovator to other areas of the Demant Group’s diagnostics business.

Interacoustics employs around 800 people worldwide, including 200 at its headquarters in Middelfart, Denmark. “A complete end-to-end PLM – from development to manufacturing to operations – is key to achieving our goals to continue to grow and be a global leader – now and in the future,” says Mette Winther, who At Demant, as Vice President Diagnostics IT, he was responsible for the introduction of Aras Innovator at Interacoustics.

The medical technology manufacturer has set itself the task of advancing hearing and balance medicine through innovative technologies and intensive research. “The formative role that Interacoustics has played for years in the further development of modern audiology impressed us from the start,” says Jens Rollenmüller, Managing Director of Aras Germany. “We are very pleased to be able to use our solution to support Interacoustics in taking the diagnosis and treatment of hearing disorders to the next level.”

Regulation of medical technology products requires a tailor-made PLM solution

From hearing screening for newborns to rotating chairs for balance tests – as medical products, Interacoustics solutions are subject to strict supervision and regulation. “So that we can develop, manufacture and maintain high-quality, configurable products that comply with all regulations, we need Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) that perfectly supports our technical workflows and, above all, offers a high level of traceability,” says Martin Jensby, IT manager at Diagnostics IT, Demant. “Simple, fast and scalable processes for change requests as well as automated master data entry that eliminates the need for manual data replication were the deciding factor in Aras’ PLM system.”

“With its very high adaptability to our customers’ processes, Aras Innovator fully exploits its strengths, not least in sensitive environments such as medical technology,” says Aras Managing Director Jens Rollenmüller.

However, these customization options do not come at the expense of speed. “The rollout of Aras Innovator will be carried out in several stages and will then be used in other parts of the Demant diagnostics business as quickly as possible,” says Jensby.
