Regarding the benefits that this achievement brings, the academic director of UDLAP expressed that he has three: “The first is for the institution, since it shows that the academic, administrative and school processes meet the national and international quality that allows us to continue training medical surgeons with a high level of knowledge. The second is for our graduates in Medical Surgeon, who will have as support this quality of training that is reaffirmed by COMAEM and by the World Federation of Medical Education. And the third is for students who at some point want to homologate some degree or continue their studies abroad, who will be easily accepted simply because they are endorsed by the World Federation for Medical Education».

To end the interview, Dr. Roberto Carlos Mares Morales, academic director of the Department of Health Sciences of the Universidad de las Américas Puebla, emphasized that having obtained the reaffirmation of accreditation at the national level by COMAEM and the accreditation at an international level by the World Federation for Medical Education is a clear example that UDLAP has the best prestige and the best educational quality: «Although we were online, we achieved this national reaccreditation and international accreditation with the highest verification standards , which means that UDLAP is one of the most prestigious universities in the country with academic excellence and exemplary students».

It should be noted that the Degree in Medical Surgeon from UDLAP was founded in 2007 and since its creation to date has obtained technical-academic opinions from the Secretary of State Education and COMAEM; as well as it has made continuous improvement changes in its study plans, technological investment in simulation areas and opening of new buildings and rooms. Currently this degree has approximately 300 active students, due to the fact that a meticulous selection process is carried out where only 60 students are accepted annually, who can carry out their rotating internship in different hospitals worldwide and nationally. “Something very important to note is that the UDLAP’s Medical Surgeon degree not only trains primary health care physicians, but also focuses on training in high-level medical research,” said the Dr. Roberto Carlos Mares Morales.
