Medical Students Begin CPR Training at University of the Northeast: Life-Saving Techniques to be Shared Province-Wide

This Friday the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course began at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Northeast (Unne). With the presence of the Minister of Public Health of the Province, Ricardo Cardozo, and the presentations of professionals this Friday morning, the training for medical students began so that they can learn regarding the main CPR techniques. They seek to replicate it in the province.

The first aid and pulmonary resuscitation training was organized by teaching staff from the Medicine major at the faculty located at Mariano Moreno 1240, to provide the necessary tools to students who are in full training. They assured that this type of activities is of vital importance to be able to learn these techniques that help save lives.

The Minister of Public Health of the Province, Ricardo Cardozo, said: “I requested these trainings because they are essential, not only for those who are starting (a medical career) but for those who have already been in it for a long time,” and thanked the director of Teaching and Research, Giuseppe Badaracco, and the professors in charge of the dissertation.

“The statistics of sudden death in the world are increasing and there is an increasing number of people at risk, with a higher percentage of people with pathologies that cause them to suffer cardiac arrest.” “More than 60% of Argentines are overweight and obese,” said the minister. At the meeting, the students were able to learn regarding resuscitation and urged those present to be multiplying agents and assured that the idea is to replicate the activity throughout the province.
