Medical Residences presented the specialties to medical graduates of the UCCuyo

The Human Resources and Training Division of the Ministry of Public Health presented the offer of residences in Medical Specialties to the graduates of the medical career of the Catholic University of Cuyo. It was held on December 5, within the framework of the “Meet our Residences and Join us” program.

The heads of residents and coordinators told and related their experiences to the graduated professionals, who consulted regarding the agendas, hospital practices, characteristics of the specialties, hourly load, etc.

The trainers from the three locations that San Juan has, the Marcial Quiroga Hospital, the Rawson Hospital and the René Favaloro Training Center, insisted on the residency system as the best method of education and training for the specialist. It is an on-the-job training system, since the resident learns all the details of the specialty from her.

The need to train professionals in areas such as General and Family Medicine, Paediatrics, Medical Clinic, Neonatology, Adult and Child Intensive Care was also highlighted. Necessary and priority areas for health, for which the provincial health portfolio, Ministry of Health of the province, implemented an extra economic incentive, among other strategies.

Resident heads and trainers from the following specialties attended: General and Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Medical Clinic, General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Neonatology, Hematology, Infectious Diseases, Ophthalmology, O. and Traumatology, Child Intensive Care, Diagnostic Imaging and Psychiatry.
