Seeking to increase the quality of care in intensive therapy services, for two days they were held at the General Hospital of San Juan del Río (HGSJR), the Conference on “Critical Medicine”.
The start of these activities was headed by the State Secretary of Health, Martina Pérez Rendón, who assured that the idea is increase the quality of care in intensive care services.
He emphasized that the continuous training of health professionals is important at the different levels of care, with the aim that each patient is treated according to what is required and that successful recovery is sought.
Likewise, he stressed that in the case of critical medicine keep abreast of scientific and technological updates, so that it is of great help for decision-making regarding the therapeutic component; however, it is also very useful to gather scientific evidence that contributes to health research, and consequently, improve care protocols, risk prevention, and develop new therapies.
The secretary highlighted that the Covid-19 pandemic has led to significant changes in medical care and has left great lessons, one of which has forced us to have highly trained staff to work in intensive care units, where it is vital to have knowledge and experience in the management of patients who require mechanical ventilation, among other interventions.
These conferences held on Thursday and Friday, featured presentations such as; “Current management of severe pancreatitis”, “Rapid intubation sequence in a patient with hemodynamic instability”, “Analgesia and sedation in a critical patient”, “Care of the patient under mechanical ventilation”.
