Guadalajara will host the Medical Expo 2023, in its fourth edition.
According to the president of the National Association of Health Providers, Carlos Salazar, the decision arose as a result of the fact that Perla Tapatia has 850 companies that sell medical devicesof which 80 percent are micro and small.
“Within a study that we did at the National Health Association, we identified that Guadalajara is the second most competitive state in terms of marketing of medical devices, we found that in Guadalajara there is an ecosystem,” said Carlos Salazar, president of the National Association of Health Providers.
The main producing states of medical devices are:
- Baja California
- Chihuahua
- Mexico City
- Jalisco
- Sonora
The most widely produced devices are:
- Equipment and instruments for medical and dental use
- Articles and sections for orthopedics and rehabilitation
- Devices and consumables for respiratory therapy
- catheters and needles
The president explained that the main objective of Medical Expo is to strengthen the relationship between marketers.
“This exhibition and the platform of presentations, conferences and workshops, regardless of being organized by the medical device sector, are not exclusively focused on medical devices but rather to strengthen the health system in Mexico,” he commented.
In the country there are 400 manufacturers of medical devices, as well as 3,000 importers and marketers that generate 800,000 jobs.
