MediaTek Launches First Commercial SoC Chip to Support Dolby Vision IQ and “Precision Detail” Support for Next-Generation Advanced Image Technologies

MediaTek The company announced it was the first TV SoC chip supplier to support Dolby Vision IQ and feature “Precision Detail”. MediaTek’s Pentonic Series for 8K and 4K Smart TVs

The Pentonic series will also enable TV manufacturers to add features designed for Dolby Vision gaming, along with other advanced capabilities. MediaTek and Dolby have partnered to bring these technologies. use and will be available in the second half of 2022, with TV OEMs being the first to begin adopting.

In addition to the Precision Detail feature, MediaTek’s Intelligent View technology is also equipped with a sharpness. MediaTek Pentonic also enhances gaming performance by supporting various features. Designed for gaming in Dolby Vision, including TV OEMs, will be able to add advanced features such as Dolby Vision gaming at 4K resolution and 120Hz speed.

The Pentonic chip also reduces latency and optimizes the display when playing games in Dolby Vision via Auto Low Latency (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for better gaming experience.
