All leading graphics card and processor manufacturers will raise prices by 20% during 2022. This was reported by the Chinese portal MyDrivers, citing sources in the semiconductor industry.
The rise in price will affect all chips developed using 5 and 7 nm manufacturing processes. This is due to the fact that the main global manufacturer of these products, the Taiwanese company TSMC, has increased the prices for its services.
TSMC’s customers are all leading video card manufacturers, including Intel. As for its processors, it is not known whether the American company will raise their cost, since they are produced at their own factories, and the latest Alder Lake CPU family uses a 10 nm process technology. In addition, it is not specified when exactly the products of Intel, AMD and NVIDIA will be sold at the new prices.
