In two days, on February 16th, the servers for Medal of Honor, Medal of Honor: Airborne, and Medal of Honor: Warrior will shut down, bringing the series to an end, aside from the all-but-forgotten VR inclusivity of 2020.
The last console version of Medal of Honor was Medal of Honor: Warrior, which launched in 2012. With Call of Duty and Battlefield dominating the FPS market, there hasn’t been room for an old dog like Medal of Honor for a while.
Since its initial release in 1999, Medal of Honor has been credited with influencing Call of Duty and Battlefield. It also launched 15 main games plus a few expansions, and Medal of Honor was a well-known name in the FPS genre until 2012.
It’s a shame to see a franchise completely forgotten in this way, but with the times, it’s clear why EA might not be interested in another Medal of Honor.
Thanks, insider game。
