Asunción, IP Agency.- This Friday, the Military Hospital enabled improvements in important areas of the medical center and received the registration and authorization certificate from the Ministry of Health, in a certificate renewal process.
The event was attended by the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, accompanied by the Minister of National Defense, Oscar González, and the Vice Minister of Comprehensive Health Care, Santiago Adolfo García Destéfano.
The improvements enabled were in the hospitalization rooms, operating rooms, mammography areas and multipurpose emergencies, strengthening the hospital’s capacity.
The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense have an agreement where the health portfolio uses the infrastructure of the Military Hospital with its resources, supplies and medications to perform scheduled surgeries and reduce waiting lists within the public system.
The agreement has been in force since October 2023 and has already allowed the performance of more than 1,000 minor surgeries or on low-risk patients.
