The General Directorate of Personal Status issued a statement in which it said: “This administration is committed to the action plan that it has drawn up since 2017 in terms of mechanizing and developing work in the General Directorate of Personal Status to facilitate citizens’ affairs, by relying on its own human capabilities and dispensing with private companies with the aim of saving the state money.” Lebanese and not incurring additional financial burdens, and in continuation of the steps taken by this General Directorate to automate registration data, and following completing all the preparatory stages for the electronic individual and family registration statement program, including training work for employees, updating programs, experiments on them, and receiving new forms.
The statement added, “The General Directorate of Personal Status announces that, as of Monday morning, September 11, 2023, civil registries will begin issuing electronic individual and family registration data according to the new unified form, which includes new standards, the most important of which is the QR code, which will allow anyone concerned to review the accuracy of the data.” The levels of restrictions in addition to preventing confusion that occurred when filling out family registration data manually, noting that the characteristics of the system and the new statement and its specifications can be viewed through the video published on the website of the General Directorate of Personal Status www.dgcs.gov.lb.”
The statement concluded: “Finally, this General Directorate states that if citizens still have copies of family and individual registration data issued as of the year 2017, they can renew them in the civil registry and dowry with the phrase, ‘There has been no amendment to date.’”
