MDS Youth Holds 5th National Congress

The youth of the Democratic and Social Movement (MDS) held its 5th National Congress on Saturday in Tangier under the slogan “Youth, skills at the service of the nation”, with the participation of representatives of the various local sections of youth in National level.

Speaking at this event, which took place in the presence of members of the party’s Political Bureau and of the MDS Women’s Organization, as well as party coordinators in the various regions of the Kingdom, the secretary general of the party , Abdessamad Archane underlined that this Congress is being held in a context marked by profound political, economic and social changes that Morocco is experiencing, thanks to the far-sighted leadership of King Mohammed VI, and the incessant efforts made by the Kingdom to consolidate the achievements made. on development and human rights.

Archane affirmed that young people have always played a pioneering and important role in achieving development, supporting political and economic development and defending national constants, noting that young people have the ability to add value to life. politics, and to contribute to the moralization of public life and to the strengthening of the democratic structure.

The Secretary General of the MDS also assured that Morocco has succeeded, thanks to the insightful vision and the farsighted leadership of the King, and the coherent national mobilization, to settle in the artificial conflict around the Moroccan Sahara and to have the recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara by influential countries internationally and regionally, thanks to a realistic project that supports the close human ties between the North and the South of Morocco, and the progress and development experienced by the provinces of the South, as well as realism in the treatment of fundamental societal questions in the face of the misleading speeches of the enemies of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

Regarding the socio-economic situation, Archane called on the government to accelerate the implementation of the electoral program of the majority to meet the expectations of society and the aspirations of young people in vital sectors, including education, health, sport and employment, noting that the party looks to the future with great optimism, provided that societal issues are placed at the center of national programs and plans.

This meeting was punctuated by the election of Achraf Chahboun, national youth secretary of the party, succeeding Mustapha Boumehdi.

In a statement to the press, Chahboun pledged to continue advocating for youth issues, defending national issues and strengthening the contribution of rising generations to the management of local and national public affairs, stressing that the The adhesion of young people to political action is important for the development of national partisan life, the moralization of public life and the support of the structures of elected bodies.

He considered that the contribution of young people is essential to accompany the developments that Morocco is experiencing in all areas, noting that the issue of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom is “a firm conviction which requires the support of all members of the society “.

This meeting was also marked by the election of members of the MDS Youth Executive Board and the formation of the organization’s National Council and functional committees.
