Cost increases, years of delays and chaotic project structures at the MCI Campus cannot be attributed to the university!
Innsbruck (OTS) – The MCI rejects the allegations made in the media that the MCI might be responsible for the problems with the new “MCI Campus” building project as completely unfounded (TT, October 24th & 25th, 2023):
“The speculations made publicly are strange, and it would be entirely reasonable to look at the facts before spreading inaccurate information,” The MCI Campus project team, the MCI University College, the MCI Works Council and the MCI Students’ Union jointly address the public.
The summarized facts:
- In 2018, an architecturally, urban planning, economically and functionally convincing project was simply rejected shortly before implementation, causing massive damage to the MCI, the employees & students, the sponsors and stakeholders, the science, science & business location, as well as the taxpaying population was added.
- All the arguments put forward by the responsible decision-makers at the time, according to which a new tender would lead to a cheaper or better project, not only turned out to be wrong, but were even dramatically reversed.
“The past can no longer be changed and we have no benefit from seeing our fears at the time fully confirmed. But now to blame exactly those who had warned regarding the new tender, an unusual award model and chaotic project structures, for this undesirable development is tantamount to reversing cause and effect,” The MCI categorically denies the allegations made. “There are no special requests from the MCI that might have made the project more expensive, as is repeatedly falsely claimed.”the senders of the press release also reject this assumption as incorrect.
And further: “When our university management, the MCI Campus project team, the members of the university staff, the employees who push themselves to their limits every day and our committed students, regardless of the difficult conditions, deliver excellent performance every day, regularly achieve renowned awards and exemplary responsibility in family, work and society “We should acknowledge this instead of causing damage to the Entrepreneurial School®, which is the envy of Tyrol internationally, to its stakeholders and the location through inaccurate allegations.”
