McDonald’s under fire for daring to release this unthinkable dessert

Food and gastronomy

They did it…

McDonald’s, this ally of quick meals when you really don’t feel like cooking, when you come back very late from a drunken evening or when you want to give your kids the surprise of the century. It sometimes happens that our favorite partner in crime does us wrong. Because McDonald’s has just announced the release of this new dessert that no one likes: a McFlurry… with coriander.

A cilantro McFlurry

Of all the possible and imaginable choices, why did the fast-food giant decide to opt for coriander? Nobody knows it. But everything suggests that McDonald’s risks alienating many of his fans. Indeed, it would seem that our taste or not for cilantro is genetically determined. It is therefore completely normal that you find that cilantro tastes like soap or dishwashing liquid while your neighbor loves it. Konbini recently launched a survey to feel the mood on the consumer side, and already 81% are positioning themselves to qualify this choice as a “scandal”. Conversely, there are 18% of “Yum yum”. McDonald’s will therefore be able to count on them to liquidate its stocks of McFlurry. For the others, there are the McFlurry with Maltesers, brownie or caramel, cookies, chocolate chips and much more. Phew!

A limited edition in China

Second important point which should relieve some of them, this McFlurry was launched in China (while a spicy version had previously emerged… tastes and colors). This ice cream will be served in a limited edition in Chinese restaurants until February 25 for the price of 6.6 yuan (about 1 euro) and there, it is apparently causing a sensation! Here’s what it actually looks like:
