McDonald’s raises prices again for the first time in half a year… Big Mac single item 4,900 won

McDonald’s Korea will raise menu prices by an average of 4.8% starting from the 25th.

McDonald’s announced on the 20th that it will raise the price of each menu from a minimum of 100 won to a maximum of 400 won. The representative menu ‘Big Mac’ will increase by 300 won from 4,600 won to 4,900 won, and ‘Double Bulgogi Burger’ will increase by 100 won from 4,400 won to 4,500 won.

In February, the price increased by 100 to 300 won per menu, an average of 2.8%, followed by an additional increase in half a year.

A McDonald’s official said, “Inevitably, some price adjustments have been made due to the rapid rise in domestic and overseas costs such as raw material prices and logistics costs.”

However, even following this price adjustment, the ‘MacLunch’ service, which offers a discount of up to 20% for lunch, will continue to operate.

This year, franchise burger makers have continued to raise prices.
Burger King raised prices twice in January and last month, and Lotteria raised prices twice in December of last year and June of this year.

Shinsegae FoodNo Brand Burger, run by , also raised the price of its 40 menu items by an average of 5.5% on the 18th, following an average 2.8% increase in product prices in December last year. KFC also raised the price of some menu items by 200 to 400 won last month, following January this year.

The common explanation of the companies is that raw material prices such as flour have risen in the followingmath of the Ukraine war, as well as other costs such as logistics and labor costs.
