Within the framework of the International Day of Universal Access to Information, McDonald’s reinforced its commitment to transparency through the program “Open doors”.

Since its launch in 2014, more than 15 million people have lived the experience of touring the kitchens of each location and thus be able to learn regarding food safety procedures, the origin and quality of ingredients, the careful preparation of orders, the training of collaborators and a variety of other topics related to what happens behind the McDonald’s counter.

In September 2022, renewed the “Open Doors” initiative to offer a better experience to customers. Among the new features, a brief satisfaction survey for participants was included.

Data obtained through more than 38,000 surveys throughout the region revealed that the topic most valued by McDonald’s customers focuses on food safety and hygiene measures, one of the pillars of the company’s socio-environmental strategycalled Recipe of the Future.

Constant hand washing, disinfection of surfaces and care to avoid cross-contamination of food are some of the standards that are rigorously followed in McDonald’s kitchens.

In the second instance, the quality ingredients, the assembly of the orders and the storage of the products were highlighted. Furthermore, following learning details regarding the production processes, more than 97% of respondents rated the quality of McDonald’s products as very good or excellent.

This data is extremely relevant to the company, as it provides an accurate view of consumers’ interests and perceptions.

Many people can’t imagine the technology and dynamics we have behind the counter.”

Maximiliano Recchioni, franchisee

Regarding this experience, the Neuquén franchisee, Maximiliano Recchioni, expressed: “Opening the McDonald’s location is always a great opportunity to get closer to our customers. It is very positive and they are impressed by the processes we develop in the kitchen. Many people do not imagine the technology and dynamics we have behind the counter. Visitors will be able to tour different areas of the kitchen with the “Experience Leader” to discover how the products are prepared. They will see what the work of McDonald’s employees is like, most of whom are going through their first formal work experience and comply with rigorous procedures to guarantee maximum food safety and hygiene.

During this visit, the hamburgers stand out, they are made with 100% high quality beef and local and sustainable origin of the ingredients. There is also a focus on the responsible handling of food, the technology to maintain the perfect temperature of the products during the assembly process and the sustainable initiatives carried out in the restaurants, such as oil recycling.

The visit, which lasts approximately 20 minutes, can be done at any time of the year and in most restaurants in the country. You can enter in groups of no more than 5 people at a time and no prior registration is required.
