Following the announcement of a partnership between McDonald’s and Green Eletron, a reverse logistics manager for electronics and batteries in Brazil, consumers will be able to correctly dispose of their electronic waste. A store that operates 24 hours a day, located in av. Bernardino de Campos, 307, in the Paraíso neighborhood, in São Pauloprovides an exclusive box for this.

The collector has the capacity to receive small and medium sized items (such as notebook, cell phone, hair dryer, electric cooker, recorder, cables and accessories, among others), useless cells and batteries. The initiative between companies guarantees the recycling of products that, if not disposed of correctly, can pollute groundwater and contaminate the population’s water.

Ademir Brescansin, executive manager of Green Eletron, points out that this disposal has social impacts, with the generation of capital for professionals in the recycling sector; environmental, by avoiding soil and water contamination; and economical, by returning raw materials to the market with the same quality as when extracted from the land.

The McDonald’s unit, considered a model store, also offers a charging point for electric vehicles, parking for bicycles and a compost bin for processing organic waste, among other ecological initiatives.
