Procession at the PCR laboratory Extends free inspection in Kagoshima prefecture until August 31st[07/21 19:43]

As the infection of the new corona spreads rapidly, more and more people are requesting PCR tests and medical examinations, and the effects are beginning to appear.

It is a PCR inspection site set up in front of Kagoshima Central Station. The prefecture is conducting free inspections for anxious citizens, and people who wish to inspect are lining up.

(Office worker in his thirties) “I came back from another prefecture, so I thought I’d take it just in case. I’m worried because it’s increasing in Kagoshima.”

(Teenage student) “I thought it was important to inspect. I’m scared because I’m getting closer.”

(Office worker in his 60s) “I’m worried regarding when and where I’ll get infected. I have an illness. I’m very careful. I have myself and I shouldn’t spread it to customers.”

According to the Kyushu Health Laboratory, which operates the facility, the number of tests per day at this facility was less than 100 at the end of June, but it has more than doubled due to the rapid spread of infection. In particular, it is said that the number of young people and children with many infected people is increasing.

At the moment, the increase in the number of inspections has no effect on the inspection system, and the results will be available the next day at the latest.

The prefecture has set a deadline for free tests for anxious citizens until 31st of this month, but announced on the 21st that it will be extended to 31st of August due to the rapid spread of infection.
