A 66-year-old taxi driver was arrested in Kagoshima City on the early morning of the 4th for trying to kill a passenger man by cutting it with a utility knife.

Tatsuro Matsumoto (66), a taxi driver in Yamada-cho, Kagoshima City, was urgently arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

According to the Kagoshima Minami Police Station, Matsumoto cut it with a utility knife holding the right back of the head of an adult man whose identity was being confirmed on the street at Usuki 3-chome, Kagoshima City at around 0:40 am on the 4th. There is a suspicion that he tried to kill him.

A passerby found a man bleeding and lying down on the road and reported it to the police.

Approximately 10 minutes before the crime, Matsumoto put a man who drank alcohol at a restaurant and then quarreled in the car and cut off the place where he got out of the car.

The man was taken to the hospital but is conscious and has no life-threatening consequences.

Matsumoto was away from the scene by taking a taxi following slashing the man, but the police who returned to the scene and heard the situation were arrested urgently.

According to police investigation, Matsumoto admitted that he had slashed the man, but denied some of the charges, saying that he “did not intend to kill him.”

The police are investigating the circumstances, assuming that there was some trouble in the car.
