A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of leaving a woman’s body at his home in Ichikikushikino, Kagoshima Prefecture. Police are confirming the identity of the body because the man said, “It was the mother who abandoned it.”
Katsuhito Kamikawaji (59), an unemployed resident of Minatomachi, Ichikikushikino City, was arrested on suspicion of abandoning a corpse.
According to the Ichikikushikino Police Station, Kamikawaji is suspected of leaving the body of a woman in his room around the end of November.
Kamikawaji, who lives with his mother, said that on the 19th of this month, when city officials did not respond to his mother’s visit, he consulted with the police station, and the police found a body that had been dead for about three weeks in his bedroom. That’s it. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was multiple organ failure due to malnutrition.
It is said that Kamikawaji’s mother has not been contacted, and Kamikawaji has admitted to the charges, saying, “It was the mother who abandoned it.”
