Mbappé, Neymar and Messi shine together

Surely, Al Khelaïfi did not imagine in August, the date on which he signed Messi, that he would have to wait until the beginning of April to see the Argentine score in the same game. It happened this Sunday, on matchday 30 of Ligue 1 against Lorient in a match that served to smooth things over with the fans, angry at the premature elimination of the Champions League against Real Madrid.

Mbappé was, without a doubt, the great standard-bearer for the Parisians in the 5-1 victory against the Breton team. He scored two goals, gave three assists and gave PSG hope in the mixed zone by acknowledging that he had not made a decision regarding his future and that there were possibilities of extending his contract. The Parc des Princes, totally devoted to Bondy’s talent, did not stop chanting his name during the 90 minutes as a show of affection to try to bring him closer to renewal.

Regarding Neymar, the situation was radically different, but the performance he signed against Lorient served to reconcile with the Parc des Princes. He scored two goals, got along wonderfully with Mbappé and generated several scoring chances, including a marvelous pass to Messi that could have been, perfectly, one of the best goals of the season in Ligue 1.

Messi was another of those who rediscovered his best version at times. Applauded by the Parc des Princes in the run-up to the match, the Argentine star scored his third goal in Ligue 1 this Sunday. Although it is clear that he is still not at the level of his best years at Barcelona, the goal he scored against Lorient could serve to give him momentum until the end of the season and win his first title with PSG.
