French international striker Kylian Mbappe made his decision regarding his future and preferred to stay with his current team, Paris Saint-Germain, instead of moving to Real Madrid, according to several media outlets reported Saturday 05/21.
The French newspapers “L’Equipe” and “Le Parisien Aujourduy” and the Spanish “Marca”, in addition to radio “RMC”, reported a decision to extend the contract with Saint-Germain for three years, pending the official signing, to be announced later on Saturday evening.
Those close to Mbappe refused to comment on what was reported by the media when contacting them, pending an official statement from the French capital club in this regard.
Mbabi’s mother, Fayza Al-Ammari, had reported to the Egyptian website Kora Plus on Friday that her son had reached an agreement with both Saint-Germain and Real, and he had to choose between them.
“All negotiations are over,” she said. “We have an agreement with Madrid and Paris. Now it’s up to Kilian to choose.”
“The two offers are equal… On the one hand we have our image (Madrid) and on the other hand the financier… There is no big difference because the two clubs are equal.”
Mbappe’s contract with the capital club expires in June, and he stated that he will announce his decision “before” the next gathering of the French national team on May 28, but things may accelerate to the point where he will announce this decision this weekend, according to what the newspaper expected. L’Equipe, the sportswoman, who titled Friday, “Mbappe, the end of the suspense on Sunday,” then said Saturday, “It will stay.”
Marca and RMC reported on Saturday that Mbappe called Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to inform him personally of the decision to stay in Saint-Germain, and he wanted last summer to move to the royal club, but the Qatari management of the French capital club stood in the way of completing the deal.
Reports indicated that the last offer made by Real to the twenty-three-year-old was approximately 190 million euros, as a signing bonus and a net annual salary of 40 million euros, in addition to 50% of his image rights, like the rest of his players.
But those close to Mbappe prefer the 100% offered by Saint-Germain.
Mbappe and Saint-Germain will conclude their season later on Saturday when they celebrate the league title in front of the “Parc des Princes” fans once morest Metz in the last stage of “Ligue 1”, in a meeting that will be a farewell to the late Argentine winger Angel Di Maria from the capital club following seven seasons in its ranks.
