Mazzù savors but does not ignite: “I have become too old to dance”

“Come on Mazzù, sing with us.” Some of the Anderlecht supporters tried the blow but the Anderlecht coach greeted with a wise gesture, with a big smile. He neither sang nor danced, as he had become accustomed to in another Brussels Park last season.

Haven’t you been tempted to dance like at the Union?

“No. I took another year and got too old to dance (smile).”

The reception of the public must have made you happy all the same.

“Yes, clearly. It warmed my heart. But I know that the Anderlecht public is demanding and we will have to continue to win.”

Were you, at times, afraid of missing this first victory?

“At 1-0, you’re never totally calm. You’re not sure if you should attack to get a second or defend. But in the end, we didn’t concede anything and Hendrik (Van Crombrugge) didn’t had a lot to do. I’m happy with the mastery.”

All was not perfect, however.

“No, indeed. Faced with a low block in this heat, we did not always make the right choices. We tried too hard to play inside, forgetting the flanks. I also saw technical waste unusual for some players. But it was just the first game.”

A first match where Silva has already impressed.

“Yes, he scored a high-class goal. Like Sebastiano (Esposito) did last week once morest Lyon. And there is still Mario (Stroeykens) who is patient, Benito (Raman). I have several different profiles , it’s up to me to make the right choices.”

You made the choice to start Trebel and he gave the impression of never having been dismissed.

“I don’t want to link his performance to what has happened before for him here. He brings experience in a sector. It’s a good thing when there are a lot of young people.”
