Mayra Ramirez joins Chelsea and becomes the most expensive player in history

The Colombian Mayra Ramirez on Friday became the most expensive football player in history by leaving the Spanish club Levante for Chelsea for an amount of 500,000 euros including 50,000 euros in bonuses.

By spending 500,000 euros to secure the services of the striker, Chelsea broke the record of 460,000 euros spent by FC Barcelona to attract Keira Walsh, then active at Manchester City. Ramirez, 24, stood out at the World Cup last summer in Australia, reaching the quarter-finals with Colombia. Arriving at Levante during the summer of 2022, she scored 19 goals in 40 matches.
