Tepeaca Mayor to Join Procession of Child Jesus Doctor on Good Friday in Puebla


tepeaca de Negrete—Julián Alfredo Velazquez Romero, the mayor of tepeaca, has confirmed his participation in the XXXIII procession of the Child Jesus Doctor of the Sick on Good Friday, April 19th. The procession will take place in the downtown streets of PueblaS capital.

Mayor Velazquez Romero emphasized the honor he feels in accompanying the image. “It will be a privilege and honor to accompany the miraculous and venerated image of the child’s child of the patients of Tepeaca on that symbolic date,” he stated. He added that the procession precedes the April festivities,during which the “La Feria del Niño Doctor” will offer family-oriented activities.

The mayor’s office is committed to providing logistical support for the event. Velazquez Romero detailed that his governance will collaborate “in whatever is necessary for the transfer of first leg and return of the venerated image to his Santiuario in Tepeaca.”

The Procession Route

The XXXIII Good Friday procession will follow its conventional route, starting from the atrium of the Puebla Cathedral, adjacent to the Zocalo, Puebla’s main square. The procession will proceed along September 16 street to Juan de Palafox and mendoza avenue. Participants will then turn onto 2 North Street to 4 East, merging onto 4 Poniente Avenue until reaching 11 North, near the El Gallito clock in El Paseo Bravo, where a second reflection will be held.

The procession will then return via Reforma Avenue to the Zócalo de Puebla, concluding back at the Cathedral.
